Stepping into Paradise
From the moment I landed, everything was seamless. The resort’s airport transfer whisked us away in a comfortable van, and before long, I was walking through the lush grounds of this beautiful, adults-only resort.
My home for the next few days was the Crystal Lagoon Luxury Honeymoon Room, and it was nothing short of magical. I opened the door to find a stunning space: a king-sized four-poster bed, a spa-like bathroom with a rain shower, and a balcony with a soaking tub that overlooked a green tropical garden. The room had everything I needed, from a fully stocked mini-fridge to little touches like fresh towels and luxurious toiletries. It was the perfect retreat after a day of exploring.
One of the things I loved most about Sandals Barbados was the variety of places to relax. With 11 pools to choose from, I never felt like I was in the same place twice. My favourite was the glass-edge pool. Floating in the water with the sky stretching out before me felt surreal—like I was swimming into the clouds.
And then there was the beach. The water here is something out of a postcard—a brilliant shade of turquoise so clear you can see the soft, white sand below. Thanks to a wave break, the ocean was calm, and swimming felt more like floating in a giant, natural lagoon.
A Feast for the Senses
Food at Sandals Barbados is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. With 21 restaurants on the property, every day brought something new to savor.
My mornings started with a peaceful sit-down breakfast at The Greenhouse, where I enjoyed fresh fruit and fluffy pancakes. But my guilty pleasure? Sweet N Salty, the resort’s gourmet donut and coffee shop. The smell of freshly baked donuts was impossible to resist, and I found myself there more than once.
The highlight of my dining adventures, though, was dinner at Le Parisienne, a rooftop French restaurant. As I sipped a glass of wine and watched the sun set over the island, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to be in such a stunning place.
Exploring Barbados
While the resort itself was a paradise, I couldn’t pass up the chance to explore the island. One of my favorite adventures was the Electric Bike Tour. Our guides were incredible, sharing stories and history as we pedaled through Barbados’ lush landscapes. The ride was smooth and easy, and it gave me a chance to take in the beauty of the island at a relaxed pace.
Barbados is a place full of charm and character. Coral reefs surround the island, and you can even see coral used in the construction of some buildings. Rum is a big part of life here, and the locals take great pride in their craft. I even learned that Barbados is a surfer’s paradise, with waves reaching up to 20 feet!

As my time at Sandals Barbados came to an end, I found myself wishing I could stay just a little longer. Whether it was lounging by the pool, dining on world-class cuisine, or exploring the island’s hidden gems, every moment felt like a dream.
